Armand Akbari is an actor and singer originally from the Bay Area. With over 40 theatrical productions and various film projects under his belt, Armand most recently starred in the Los Angeles premiere of the romantic comedy The Angel Next Door at International City Theatre and portrayed J.M. Barrie in Finding Neverland at CMT in San Jose. He previously made his Off-Broadway debut as Gus/Augustus Coverly in Bedlam’s Arcadia and played Haled in The Band’s Visit at The Writers Theatre in Chicago, IL.
Armand was recognized as the final winner of The Beach Blanket Babylon “Scholarship for the Arts” Competition and was a finalist in BroadwayWorld’s inaugural season of Next on Stage, as well as in the American Pops Orchestra’s NextGen National Competition.
He earned a Presidential Merit Scholarship to USC, graduating summa cum laude as an inaugural member of the BFA Musical Theatre Program and the Thematic Option Honors Program. He also served as VP of the Trojan Actors for Film & Television Club. He has trained at the Groundlings School of Improv and the Margie Haber Acting Studio, and additionally holds a Master of Studies of Law with a certificate in Entertainment Law & Industry from the USC Gould School of Law.
Armand’s debut EP Trial and Error is out now. He is a local hire in Los Angeles and New York City.
